Interview with Park House stylist Dani Butchart
Meet Dani. Mona Vale local at heart, long-time friend and styling guru.
When it came to picking our squad for the creation of Park house,
Dani was undoubtedly the perfect fit.
Dani came into our House and sprinkled her flair around like confetti, working with us to create a space to be loved and lived in,
like all the best houses (whilst looking really, really good).
Here’s a little snippet into the magnificent mind of one of our fav
extended family members.
Describe your work in 3 words?
Creative, intense, collaborative
What’s your involvement with the Mona Vale Hotel/Park House re-development?
I am the venue stylist, working across all the loose bits and pieces such as furniture, artwork + decor.
Best thing about the Beaches?
It’s a seaside paradise close to the city, isolated beaches, incredible coffee shops and small town vibes.
What excites you most about the Park House project?
Growing up in MV this pub was a big part of it. It has so much potential that was never utilised. It’s now going to be an iconic venue which can be shared and enjoyed by so many. The concept of this venue is beautiful, considered and worthy of a peek.
Where do you look for inspiration?
I hate to stay it but day to day Instagram provides so much inspiration, it’s quick, sporadic and instant. Whilst I look to blogs, magazines and trade shows sometimes the social platform just provides the exact reference I’m wanting.
How do you like your coffee?
Extra strong soy latte XSY
Getting to Mona, L90 or Uber?
Gone are the days where I need to sit on the L90. Definitely UBER
Surfing style: Goofy or Natural?
In the attempts of being a northern beaches surfy girl, goofy… but I certainly have no style.
What’s your favourite thing to eat?
Pork of any description is my go to.
What is your go to karaoke song?
I can’t sing to save my life, but somehow always seem to request UB40 Red Red wine.
What best advice would you give to your teenage self?
Please do not sweat the small stuff, be a dreamer, think big. If you think you’re not good enough (don’t!) someone else just like you will take your place.
